- Extend the prohibition against representing or advising
persons for considerations to all stages related to an application or
proceeding under the Act, making it an offence for anyone other than an
authorized representative to do so
- Exempt members of specified associations and designated
bodies from the prohibition
- Extend the limitation period for summary proceedings in
respect of offences under ss.117, 126, 127 and 131 of the Act from six months
to 10 years:
- -Authorize the Minister to oversee a designated body by
regulation
- The full text of the Regulations Designating a Body for the
Purposes of Paragraph 91(2)(c) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act,
SOR/2011-142, which came into force on the same date. They designate the
Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) as the regulator
